Bruno Fernandes scored his 100th goal for Manchester United, in all competitions, during his 200th Premier League appearance.
Our skipper touched in Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu’s header to hand the Reds an early lead against 10-man Chelsea, after keeper Robert Sanchez was sent off.
The Portugal international had a nervous wait while the VAR made a lengthy check on a possible offside infringement, before referee Peter Bankes pointed to the centre-spot.
Although he was withdrawn towards the end, he played his part in a 2-1 victory, with Casemiro also scoring and being dismissed, as Trevoh Chalobah’s header proved in vain for the west Londoners.

Our no.8 becomes the 23rd player in our history to reach three figures for goals, moving one ahead of another of our great midfield captains in Bryan Robson.
He is now level with Joe Cassidy and George Wall in the all-time list.
After joining from Sporting in his homeland in 2020, Fernandes has been a shining light for United.
Saturday’s effort was his 64th in the English top flight.
He is only four games away from another landmark of 300 outings in total for the Reds.
“Every goal is important,” he told Sky Sports afterwards. “It doesn’t matter the moment. It’s a big moment for me to reach that milestone for a massive club, I won’t hide from that.
“If I can get more goals to help the team, that’s what matters the most.”
