Wheatley joins Northampton on loan

Manchester United striker Ethan Wheatley has joined Northampton Town on loan for the 2025/26 season.
Our 250th Academy graduate made his senior United debut in April 2024, having come the entire way through the ranks at Carrington.
The 19-year-old was a key part of the Under-18s’ three-trophy campaign in 2023/24, and continued his development the following year, starting in UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2 games, in which he scored 10 goals.
That earned him a first temporary exit, with a spell at Walsall.
Wheatley now joins up with Northampton, who finished 19th in League One last season.
