Galatasaray are showing an interest in Manchester United goalkeeping target Marc-Andr ter Stegen.
The Red Devils have been linked with a move for a goalkeeper this summer to compete with Andre Onana with Altay Bayindir’s exit seen as likely.
In an ideal world though, it is thought that Ruben Amorim would happily sell his current first choice keeper, Onana, if it could fund a move for a more expensive keeper.
Subsequently, it has been reported that United have interest in Aston Villa keeper, Emiliano Martnez.
Another name that has been mentioned is that of FC Barcelona keeper, Ter Stegen.
The German international could be heading for the exit as the Catalans are on the verge of completing a deal for highly-rated Espanyol keeper, Joan Garcia.
United will hardly expect a free run at the experienced German and Turkish media has linked champions Galatasaray to a move for the keeper.
Fotomac (via Sport) report that “the Turkish side have bid farewell to Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera at the end of this season, having spent 14 seasons with the Istanbul club.”
It is stated that they are now looking for a replacement in goal and Ter Stegen is on a target list that also includes Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and Dominik Kotarski of PAOK Thessaloniki.
Catalan outlet Sport claim that a deal may be even more attractive for potential suitors as Barcelona intend to release the player, making him available for free.
Nonetheless, the potential stumbling block lies in the fact that “he is not willing to waive the 42 million he is owed for the remainder of his contract, which expires in 2028.”
Ter Stegen missed most of this season with a ruptured patellar tendon but made a comeback against Real Valladolid at the start of May. He played a total of nine matches in the campaign.
