Manchester United have confirmed that Marc Skinner has signed a new contract to remain in charge of the women’s team until the summer of 2027, with the option of an extra year.

Skiner’s previous terms were set to expire at the end of this season.
He joined United in 2021 and led the Reds to their first major honour in women’s football with the 2024 FA Cup, after finishing runners-up the year before.
The 42-year-old has won 77 of his 119 games as United boss.
United are currently third in the Women’s Super League (WSL) and face Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals on April 13.
Reacting to his new deal, Skinner said, “It has been an absolute privilege to serve as head coach for this fantastic football club for the past four years, and I am delighted to be extending my time in the role for at least a further two years.”
“We are building a young, hungry team with the aim of challenging consistently for further trophies.”
“There is still more hard work ahead, including this season, but the players and staff have already shown their determination to succeed, and I am looking forward to us taking the next steps in our journey together.”
United’s technical director, Jason Wilcox, remarked, “Marcs record since taking charge speaks for itself, having delivered our first major womens silverware and firmly established us among the leading teams in the WSL.”
“After a major overhaul last summer, we have an exciting, developing squad ready to compete for further success, and we are convinced that Marc is the right coach to lead that process.”
United’s chief operating officer, Collette Roche, stated, “Building a successful and popular womens team is an important part of our wider, football-first strategy for the club.”
