Manchester United defender Harry Amass made his professional debut for the club in our 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday.
Amass, who was celebrating his 18th birthday, was introduced after 69 minutes at the King Power Stadium and held his own on his first senior outing.
The left-back joined the club from Watford’s Academy in June 2023 and has predominantly played for our Under-18s side.
Amass has been involved in plenty of matchday squads at senior level, but enjoyed his first minutes on Sunday.
Harry played in all three games of the American leg of Tour 2024, most notably setting up Amad to score in our 3-2 win over Real Betis.
He has been a regular for our Academy teams this term and Under-18s coach Adam Lawrence has often spoke highly of the former Hornet.
Introduced for goalscorer Alejandro Garnacho and deployed as a left wing-back by Ruben Amorim, Amass competed well and made sure of our clean sheet in the East Midlands.
With Ayden Heaven looking to have been added to our ever-growing injury list, more and more opportunities may soon arise for Harry, who has been capped at Under-17s level by England.
He becomes the 253rd graduate from our Academy to play for the first team, emulating team-mates Garnacho, Toby Collyer and Chido Obi who were also involved at the King Power Stadium.

“It’s an incredible experience,” Harry said after the final whistle. “I’m just proud at the moment and I think my family will be proud of me, everyone watching at home. I’m just grateful for the opportunity and hopefully there’s many more to come.
“It all just fell on the right day, with the 18th birthday, so it’s not a bad one, is it?
“When I found out I was very excited. I was warming up down there and got the nod and that’s when it was real.”
