Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Amad will miss Saturday’s trip to Brentford due to a bereavement in the family.
The winger has been involved in each of our six games this season, starting five, but will not be involved in the capital.
“Amad is not here, someone in his family passed away so we are giving all the support to Amad,” Ruben said, in Friday’s press conference.
“We understood it was important to him to have his time and to return home [here].”
“That is real life for Amad: we are here for him,” added Ruben, when asked if the footballing world should show players greater compassion.
“It’s a tough moment and in these kind of moments it is not important the next game.
“We can win without Amad and we will try to win for Amad.”
Everyone at United has Amad in our thoughts and wishes his family well.
Amad is one of four Reds who will not be part of the squad at the Gtech Community Stadium, alongside the suspended Casemiro and long-term absentee Lisandro Martinez.
Noussair Mazraoui has also been ruled out until the October international break, which begins after next Saturday’s meeting with Sunderland at Old Trafford.
