Manchester United Women captain Maya Le Tissier made her 100th appearance for the club in Sunday’s 5-1 win away to London City Lionesses.
The skipper marked her milestone day with a goal, opening the scoring from the penalty spot just three minutes into the contest.
Our no.4 also claimed the assist for Jayde Riviere’s strike that made it 2-0, as she completed the 90 minutes and helped the Reds record an assertive victory in the capital.

She hasn’t missed a single game across her three-and-a-bit seasons to date, demonstrating incredible availability, consistency and fitness.
Within that century, Maya has started 98 times and made two substitute appearances – the latter coming in League Cup ties against Everton and Sheffield United during her first term at the club.
Our no.4 hasn’t looked back since scoring twice on her September 2022 debut against Reading, netting twice in a 4-0 win, and has since bagged eight further goals, taking her total up to 10 in that regard.
Maya becomes just the seventh player to feature 100 times for United Women since the team’s reformation in 2018. Ella Toone was the first to do it three months before Le Tissier became a Red, and has since been joined in that exclusive club by Mary Earps, Leah Galton, Hayley Ladd, Millie Turner and Katie Zelem – the latter making her home debut for London City in Sunday’s game.
Maya’s milestone wasn’t the only one brought up on a memorable afternoon in the capital for several members of United’s squad.
Riviere and Hinata Miyazawa both made their 50th outings as Reds, while the former’s attempt that made it 2-0 was her first goal for us.
Summer signing Jess Park registered her maiden assist in our colours when teeing up the earliest of Melvine Malard’s two strikes. The second of which was a first WSL goal set up by Anna Sandberg.
Park’s fellow off-season recruit Fridolina Rolfo then came off the bench to make her debut and, not long after, played the pass that preceded an account-opening United effort for Jess.
