Former Manchester United attacking midfielder Grace Clinton has revealed her motivation for crossing the divide to join Manchester City.
United confirm Clinton’s exit Clinton’s future at United was the subject of speculation ahead of transfer deadline day, with City mentioned as an interested party in her signature. Marc Skinner moved to quell these rumours, insisting that the club had not informed him of any plans to offload Clinton.
However, a recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United and City had reached an agreement over a swap deal involving Clinton and Jess Park.
Park’s arrival at United has since been announced by United, who have also confirmed that Clinton has jumped ship.
A United statement read, “Manchester United can confirm that midfielder Grace Clinton has completed a permanent transfer to Manchester City.”
“Everyone at United would like to thank Grace for her service and wish her luck for the future.”
Clinton also posted a farewell message on Instagram, noting that her decision to exit United was because she the Reds could no longer provide her with the platform to develop.

Clintons revelation comes at a time when some fans are voicing concerns about where the womens team stands in Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS priorities. Ratcliffe has openly prioritised the mens team, a stance that inevitably pushes Skinners players further down the pecking order.
United kick off their WSL season on Sunday when they host Leicester City.
