Manchester United have agreed on a fee with Napoli for Rasmus Hojlund’s exit.
The Athletic have revealed that the Dane will depart on an initial season-long loan, with a conditional obligation which would kick in should the Serie A champions qualify for the Champions League.
In addition to the 44 million fee, the Red Devils will also receive a loan fee once the signing is completed.
Interestingly, the deal remains in limbo as the Denmark international has yet to give his approval.
Loan fee agreed It has been established that the 22-year-old would love to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford, but he has not been a part of three matchday squads so far.
Ruben Amorim has made it amply clear that his minutes are likely to be dramatically reduced even if he stays, now that Benjamin Sesko has been signed.
Staying at Old Trafford remains a possibility as well should he not agree to leave. Now the ball seems to be in the United No.9’s court.
He had always insisted on a loan with obligation, and now that such a proposal has been agreed, it is likely that the striker will depart.

Despite a dismal last season, the Danish ace has attracted interest from all across Europe and the Premier League, with Napoli staving off serious competition from several Serie A clubs.
AC Milan were in pole position initially, but following Romelu Lukaku’s injury, Antonio Conte chose to barge in and win the race.
Rasmus Hojlund managed a meagre four goals in the Premier League last season, which prompted INEOS to act and bring in a quality replacement while also offering the Dane to numerous clubs.
He had arrived at United in a deal worth 75 million back when Erik ten Hag was in charge and ended up scoring 26 times from 95 appearances.
