Manchester United are progressing with their attempt to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.
Ineos have handed Ruben Amorim four players ahead of the new season despite question marks over their transfer budget.
United have spent over £200 million on bringing in Diego Leon, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
Now, the ambitious Red Devils are working on adding Baleba to their ranks in their bid to accelerate Amorim’s rebuild.
Earlier today, journalist Ben Jacobs told The United Stand (via UtdXclusive) that “verbal club-to-club talks” have started between United and Brighton for the 21-year-old midfield gem.
Jacobs added that Brighton’s CEO Paul Barber has had “some engagement with United.”
Manchester United and Brighton agree Baleba deal Now, reliable Cameroonian outlet CFootCameroun claim the two Premier League clubs have “reached an agreement” for the signing of Baleba in a deal worth €112m (£96.4m).
CFootCameroun were the first to break Baleba’s transfer from Lille to Brighton in 2023.
They further reveal that the Cameroon international is “expected to sign” for United “in the coming hours.”

Baleba would join Man United “immediately” Meanwhile, on Thursday, Fabrizio Romano shed light on the dynamic midfielder’s desire amid strong interest from United. He has three years remaining on his contract at the Amex.
The Italian transfer expert revealed that Baleba is willing to join United despite the club’s inability to offer him European football. Both Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko also turned down Champions League clubs in favour of a move to Old Trafford.
It is understood that “personal terms are not a problem” in this pursuit. Romano believes Baleba “would go to Man United immediately” if Brighton give him the green light before the window shuts.
The purported deal would make Baleba United’s most expensive signing ever.
