That said, if he does not move to Manchester, it makes perfect sense for the club to step up their pursuit of Mbeumo.
Mbeumo: a proven attacking threat With 20 goals and seven assists, Mbeumo was outscored only by Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland, and Alexander Isak among Premier League forwards.
He could provide the goal-starved United squad with the transformation they desperately need if they beat Newcastle to his signature.
If United cannot land one of the leagues elite strikers and miss out on a promising prospect like Delap, securing the next-best goalscorer could be the perfect alternative.
